The Importance of Nature

"Climb the mountains and get their good tidings.
Nature's peace will flow into you
as sunshine flows into trees.
The winds will blow their own freshness into you
while cares will drop off like autumn leaves."
John Muir

Pssst...wanna know a secret for almost everything that ails you?  Nature!

The power of being out in nature is seriously underestimated in todays society.  Kids don't get enough of it.  We adults don't get enough of it.  I can never get enough of it!

It is a proven fact that being in nature helps all kinds of things -- from psychological to medical ailments (don't tell me you haven't heard the correlation between Vitamin D deficiency and lack of sunlight).  Natures benefits are immeasurable.  I can honestly tell you that getting out in it lifts your spirits, clears your mind, eases your stress, and rekindles your motivation.

Anne Frank summed it up best:  "The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and God.  Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature. I firmly believe that nature brings solace in all troubles."

Thought of the Day:  Are you allowing yourself to enjoy the gift of nature enough?  Make sure you are -- take a walk, or eat outside.  Have lunch at a park, go hiking, or spend time in the woods.  Better yet, exercise outside for double the benefits.  No matter how you do it, you will be surprised at how amazing you feel afterward!

Have a wonderful day!

  1. Treating diseases naturally is still the best. Take vitamins and supplements if only necessary. Thanks for the info.
