Balance. It's something we usually don't give much thought to until we realize we're lacking it. It's easy to get out of balance with today's busy lifestyle. With a little thought, we can usually pinpoint what went wrong though and easily fix it.
The culprits are many. Perhaps work has been too demanding, or we have simply gotten into the habit of working too much or too often. Sometimes taking care of and doing for the kids takes its toll and we realize we haven't gotten adequate time for ourselves. Sometimes it is our "to-do" list, and we are spending too much time focused on trying to get things done. Whatever the source, the symptoms are not pleasant: moodiness, stress, feeling emotional, being cranky, feeling depressed -- those are just a few. It doesn't feel good, but these are the warning signs that it's time to get back on track.
Life is demanding, but we have to keep making time for ourselves. Oftentimes we can get more done in smaller chunks of time when we are making time for the other enjoyable things in life. We must be getting enough sleep. Eating healthy gives us energy. Drinking water ensures that we are properly hydrated which also provides us with energy and clear thinking. Working out is always immensely rejuvenating - whether it be cardio, meditative, or sports related activities. Carving time out of our schedule to enjoy our activities - whatever they may be, is critical.
Thought of the Day: Are you balanced? If you are feeling great, then you are! If you are feeling out of balance, don't worry! It's just time to regroup. Examine how you are spending your days. Take a look at what you're not getting and modify your upcoming schedule. All things are possible when your life is in balance.
